Welcome!
Thursday 21st of May 2013 was a very special day for me, in the evening I was elected Chairman of Three Rivers District Council. This is a non political position. My duties included chairing the Full Council Meetings held at least 5 times a year and representing the residents at functions and events throughout the district and in Hertfordshire.
On the 17th June 2014 I handed over my Chain of Office to the new Chairman Chris Lloyd
My theme for the year was Local History and Heritage, and I tried to support as many functions with a historical flavour as possible.
My charities were:
- Firstly Three Rivers Museum Trust of which I was a founding member over 25 years ago. I believe we must save our heritage for future generations and what better way than in Basing House, once the site of a house which was lived in by William Penn.
- My other charity was the Peace Hospice which does a magnificent job looking after those in the twilight of their lives.
I am no longer the Chairman of TRDC.
Unfortunately you can no longer view the photos I took during office on the Flickr site set up by the council. If you require any personal photos of events you attended with me please email lesmead@gmail.com and I will try to accomodate your request.
