Welcome to RBOA at Batchworth Lock Sunday Morning 14 July 2013

This morning I welcomed Alan Wildman, Chairman of the Residential Boat Owners Association (RBOA), to Batchworth Lock for the Rickmansworth Waterways Trust event ‘Chill Out At The Lock’. RBOA held their AGM in Rickmansworth last night and its members came from all over the country on their way to the National Festival next weekend in Cassiobury.
There was lots to see and hear, including many acts that appeared at the renowned Rickmansworth Festival in May, and  the Rickmansworth Players Choir,  (we saw them last night at a concert up the hill in Rickmansworth School). There were boat trips aboard ‘The Pride of Batchworth’, the Historic narrow boat ‘Roger’ and great food at Cafe@lock 81. It was a great day out.
Unfortunately ‘Joshua’ a Shire horse from Chiltern Open Air Museum would not get into his horse box, (hot weather flushes?) so he was on his way by foot.  Last time I met ‘Joshua’ I broke my leg, so perhaps it was a blessing.
