Chorleywood Youth Club AGM – Field Study Centre – Thursday evening 3rd October 2013Posted: October 4, 2013
We were invited to the AGM of the Chorleywood Youth Club. It is situated in the former field study centre in the grounds of Chorleywood Estate. Nearby are the football pitches at the end of the road which leads down to the Parish Council office in Chorleywood Road. As usual AGM’s are never greatly supported, but there were still sufficient members to fulfil the usual agenda.
Operating from impressive facilities which comprise the club’s own building, leased from Three Rivers Council, with all the usual youth club facilities, like pool, table tennis and computer and wifi facilities. It also has its own outside area which can be used for BBQ’s and other outdoor activities.
Unfortunately a few years ago the County Council withdrew its support for the club, however the volunteer management committee carried on to pay for youth workers by hiring out the hall to the Montessori nursery school and Kumon maths classes. The club has excellent facilities and a committed management team, but would very gladly welcome new committee members, who could spare a few hours each month. If anyone can help please let them know. Contact Secretary Jackie Worrall 01923 283662, and of course new members are always welcome
