Watford MenCap – Watford – Wednesday afternoon 31st October 2013Posted: October 30, 2013
Today we were invited to another Watford MenCap event this time at the West Herts College, Watford Campus, in Hempstead Road. It is always a pleasure attending MenCap functions as they are such a caring organisation. This was a ‘Fulfilling Lives – Local learning disability event’ which started at 1pm and finishes at 8pm, so if you are reading this today there’s still time to get down there. The event is to help local people and their families find out about the local services that are available to them. Activities and talks and a range of local voluntary organisations were taking part. We arrived at 1pm and were greeted by Liz Hizzli who introduced us to the organisers and Chris Pearson Director of Strategy & Corporate Affairs at West Herts College who supplied a great venue. I think we must have spoken to practically all the stalls because before we realised it it was 3.15 and I hadn’t had any lunch! Most people do not realise how many caring people there are in the area, they are certainly the unsung heroes.
